Ribbon Lollipops
| I neglected to mention that the Saturday afernoon/evening that LeAnn and I spent making cupcakes, we also attempted to make chocolate lollipops. All the supplies cost around $18, and included a ribbon mold, pink and white pound chocolate bags, strawberry candy flavoring, and lollipop sticks. | ![]() |
This was my first time making candy, and I was actually pretty excited about it. I thought it was going to be easy, but boy was I wrong! It is a lot of work, and it took forever to make only 16! Since we used two different colors, we had to first put in the pink for the ribbons, and then fill the backs with the white chocolate. Quite a few of them broke in the process too. I sold them for $2 each, and mostly to my own team. They are pretty small, so I know the price is kind of steep. I might try it again with just the pink chocolate and charge $.50 or $1 instead. Live and Learn! I have to say that they are pretty tasty!

So - we are selling our suckers tomorrow at market day - and they decided they wanted something pink to supplement our black and white cows - so I was in charge of making pink chocolate ribbons (not suckers - just these TINY little ribbon candies). Only took about 3 sets before I said SCREW IT. BUT what I did was poured the pink melted chocolate onto wax paper on a cookie sheet and spread it thin to cover the pan… then got pink sprinkles and dusted the top… let it cool and then broke it into pieces and put in a bag! Yes, it’s no ribbon sucker, but it was a HECK of a lot easier and turned out SO CUTE. Check out my blog to see a couple of pics - but maybe an idea you can do to supplement your Sugar Fest for the Breast ‘08 hahahahahahha (I still want a cupcake!)
