Pink for the Cure

It’s almost October, and that means the Pink for the Cure campaign 2008 will begin. Already you should be seeing products in your local grocery stores turning pink. I found some Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookies that I baked last week for a Special Olympics fundraiser at work:

Look for this product and more at a store near you, and help support the cure. Here is a little more about this program:

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Join Box Tops in supporting Pink for the Cure™, a nationwide initiative between General Mills and Susan G. Komen for the Cure to end breast cancer.

To show your support, look for and purchase these specially marked Box Tops Pink for the Cure™ products at your grocery store.

Participating Box Tops brands include Cheerios® Cereal, Pillsbury® Sweet Rolls, Pillsbury® Crescents, Pillsbury® Ready To Bake Cookies, Betty Crocker® Warm Delights® Desserts, Betty Crocker® Cookie Mix, Green Giant® Vegetables, Green Giant® Just for One!™ Vegetables, Hamburger Helper® Meal Mixes, Betty Crocker® Potatoes, Nature Valley® Granola Bars, and Cascadian Farm® Granola Bars. Don’t forget to clip the Box Tops from each package!

This year, General Mills is donating $2 million to Susan G. Komen for the Cure to support breast cancer research and awareness, and is launching a new website, www.PinkTogether.com. A place for breast cancer patients, survivors and their supporters to give and receive hope, www.PinkTogether.com is a social networking site whose mission is to help people connect as they share in a common struggle.
