Breast Cancer Totes

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Yesterday Nikki and I met up with Lynne, The Sewing Mom, who also lives locally. She makes beautiful handmade totes, and was sweet enough to make us some special Breast Cancer totes for the 3-Day. She makes a variety of sizes and styles. If you are interested, go visit her blog and take a look at her newest creations. I only wish I were as talented. We love the extra details, like the special pockets inside and out and the bows on each side. These bags are high quality and huge too– Nikki carried her laptop to work in hers today. We both commented that they easily could be sold in a boutique. Here are a few pictures:

If you like these, be sure to go visit Lynne and admire her other bags. I’m sure she might be willing to do a custom bag especially for you.

Grab your binoculars and come cheer us on!

There are only 7 days until the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Yay! I have been spending a lot of time in sporting goods and hunting stores lately buying gear for the event. Last week we purchased new sleeping bags and Therm-a-rest self-inflating air mattresses. We’re almost all ready to go. Don’t forget you can come out and see us at Cheering Stations across the Metroplex starting next Friday, November 7. If you come out, be sure to grab a pair of binoculars.

If you don’t have a pair, you can buy one of Nikon’s All Terrain Binoculars and get a $50 gift card if you purchase one of the Monarch ATB binoculars, and a $25 gift card when you get either a Trailblazer ATB, an Action Extreme ATB, or a ProStaff binocular. I could sure use that money for extra gear. Nikon Pro Gear offers a variety of high-quality men’s and women’s outdoor and casual garments, optics accessories and other high performance gear… just the kind of things we could use for long-distance walking.

The Nikon ATB Promotion runs through December 31.

Team Shirts for the Breast Cancer 3-Day!

Friday, October 17th, 2008

I found some awesome pink camo t-shirts online a month ago that I was going to order for our team so that we could be unified during our garage sale and the actual Breast Cancer 3-Day event. When we found out how much they were going to cost, we weren’t so sure we wanted to move forward with them. We’ve all been working hard to fundraise all year and are strapped for cash ourselves. That’s when Courtney got with her contact, Charlotte from Airmark Industries, who was able to find us the same t-shirts for a pretty big discount. We even ordered matching green ones with a pink logo for our significant others.

We love the shirts and more so the fabulous service we received from Charlotte. If you are looking for some awesome and reasonable custom team t-shirts for the Breast Cancer 3-Day, I definitely suggest you get in contact with her. She is fast, friendly and affordable. Here is her info:
