Sweep Vans

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Have you participated in one of the multi-day breast cancer walks? If you have, you know about the importance of sweep vans. If a walker gets injured, tired, hungry, or has to use the restroom before they make it to the next pit stop… the van will stop, pick you up, and drive you to the next location. They do drive very slow and seem to be very careful, but I assume they still are required to have some good Van Insurance just in case.

If you are in the UK and are looking for good van insurance rates, you should check out AutoNet Insurance. They offer prices up to 70% off. You can even get a quote over the internet, or call and speak with a representative 24 hours a day. How is that for great customer service? In addition, AutoNet guarantees you the best rate, or will offer you a refund. They also have lots information and online quotes available for many different kinds of vehicles besides vans which is very useful and easy to find. Do you have an aircraft or motorcycle? What about a motor home or caravan? They can help you get a great rate to insurance any of those and more. They even offer pet insurance! Check them out if you are in need of a good rate.

Join the Social Media Revolution

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Everywhere you go these days, people are talking about social networking and marketing. Are you a part of the revolution taking over the Internet? Social Media Marketing is fast becoming one of the best ways to get your products noticed and in the face of potential users/consumers everywhere.

I don’t know about you, but thanks to DVR and other technologies, I don’t watch commercials anymore. If I want to watch TV, it’s usually something I recorded and am viewing at a later time. That means I fast forward through all of those precious ads companies are spending millions of dollars on. Key example: the Super Bowl. Apparently Jack in the Box had a big campaign following Jack’s big bus accident. I knew nothing about it for almost a month until I came across the story online as part of my Internet blog surfing.

I find out about a lot of things these days through blogs that I read. IZEA’s PayPerPost and SocialSpark are two of the platforms helping advertisers get the word out about their companies and clients via the Internet. I have learned about countless products through them that I have then become a fan of.

People are also spreading the word on Twitter and Facebook to their communities of follows across the world. It’s getting big. Are you looking for a way to get your company or product noticed? IZEA and their network of bloggers and Social Media Marketers have the solution.

Fundraising Suggestions

Saturday, March 7th, 2009
If you have taken on the enormous task for fundraising and training for a breast cancer walk in 2009, I salute you. I know first hand that it is not easy, and it takes a lot of dedication and hard work.

The AVON walk for Breast Cancer is still trying to recruit people to participate in Houston in April. I will not be able to go, but if you are interested believe it or not, it’s not too late to start fundraising and make it to the $1800 goal.

You are probably asking yourself how that is possible. For one, you can learn how to raise $1800 in 4 weeks by following their 4 Week Plan. It has all the information you need to be successful in your campaign.

You have to be determined. Some people will tell you no, others will forget, and some will respond positively right away. All you can do is not give up, and continue sharing the reasons you are participating. Your enthusiasm will be contagious, and people will want to help you.

Other big ways that Nikki and I made over $6500 last year? We asked everyone we knew, strangers included. People were more than generous. It was amazing. We set up a stand outside of a local Wal-Mart for two days and made over $1000. It’s hard work and sometimes frustrating, but the outcome is worth it. We also had several bake sales at our workplace, and a pretty successful garage sale in the cooler part of the year. We’re in Texas, and I know a summer garage/yard sale would never have gotten as big a turnout.

Good luck to all of you, keep your chins up, and you will make it. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have, or share your own techniques in the comments.

Cheap Eyeglasses

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

One thing I wish I had packed for our 3-Day camping experience last year was a spare pair of eyeglasses. I wear contacts about 80% of the time, but it would have been nice to rest my eyes after 20 miles of dust and dirt each day. I wear expensive designer glasses, and there was no way I was bringing them on my first camping experience ever.

I recently discovered Optical4less, an online site that offers cheap eyeglasses. How would you feel about a $15 pair of high quality complete prescription glasses? Not only could I purchase a pair to wear each day of week, but I could have a spare pair to have when camping, working out in the yard, or simply for work.

Late last year before my tonsil surgery, I had to get my prescription renewed because they would not allow me to wear my contacts at the hospital. That single pair of glasses cost over $300, and that was wish insurance! Can you believe that?! Now that I know about that, why would I ever purchase from one of those big stores that boast $99 glasses that end up costing hundreds? No thanks.

Check out their large selection of cute, stylish and trendy frames starting at $15 and up. They also include styles for men and children and prescription sunglasses too.
