Laurie is a 30-year old workforce analyst who lives in Frisco, Texas. The 2008 Breast Cancer 3-Day is her first walk supporting the cause. She is walking in memory of her husband’s mother, Averta, who died of the disease in 1996 at the age of 48. Laurie looks forward to a world without breast cancer, and hopes that her efforts help fund the cure that so many women are desperately waiting for. She walks with the belief that her nieces and future generations will see a cure to breast cancer in their lifetimes. |
| Nikki is also a 30-year old sr. workforce analyst who lives in Plano, Texas. She has two beautiful children, and walks because there is history of the disease in her family and she does not want to see this impact their lives. This is also her first walk, and she looks forward to the challenges and rewards that will come with walking 60 Miles for this worthwhile cause. |
