Help me reach $2000!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008
I hate to beg, but I’m only $15 away from hitting $2000 in donations to my 3-Day. That is very exciting, because that means after that I will only be $200 away from being able to actually participate in the walk. That also means I will be only $1000 away from my personal goal of $3000!

I still need some help. Pretty please? I’ll send you an official 3-Day bracelet, Save the Ta-Tas sticker, and a thank-you note! Plus my traveling shirt will make it’s way to visit you! What do you say? Go here to make a donation. Thanks in advance. You guys are awesome and I am in awe of all the help and support I have received so far.

Our 3 Day Giveaway

Sunday, March 30th, 2008
I had a pretty successful giveaway on La Vie de Laurie this month in conjunction with the Ultimate Blog Party. I had mentioned that I’d like to do one here too in April, but I just can’t wait! Let the giveaway begin!

This time in addition to a Save the Ta-Tas t-shirt, I am also giving the lucky winner a Breast Cancer goodie bag filled with over $25 in free breast cancer related merchandise! I made Nikki a similar bag today, but the one I’m giving away for this contest will be even better.

There were some wonderful posts from bloggers last time around, so I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with this month. I am amazed, heartbroken and inspired by the stories of loss and survival. I hope that you will continue to share those with us. Our walk is going to mean so much more if we carry and tell others about your experiences during our 60 mile journey.

WIN A PRIZE: Want to win a Save the Ta-Tas tee AND a Breast Cancer goodie bag? Leave us a comment on this post for one entry, link back to our blog and this post for five entries, and make a donation (ANY amount) to my 3-Day for twenty entries (even $1 will qualify you). If you do all 3, you’ll get 26 entries. The winner will be drawn on Saturday, May 3 and will be e-mailed for sizing info and a mailing address. Good Luck and thanks for your support!

3-Day Widget

Friday, March 28th, 2008
I'm walking 60 miles in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Breast Cancer 3-Day! Will you help me reach my goal? I love widgets, so I was excited to see the new one for the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I’m nearly halfway to my goal which is a beautiful thing! David’s boss donated $100 today, so I’m getting closer to $3000!

This weekend Nikki and I will be baking fools. We are going to make ribbon-shaped sugar cookies with cream cheese frosting, so be sure to come back tomorrow Sunday for the delicious results! I’ll be selling some at work on Monday (if I feel like baking after I get home from her house), and Nikki is going to attempt her first bake sale. Wish us luck!

Blog Party

Friday, March 7th, 2008
Ultimate Blog Party 2008 Welcome to Our3Day! We are excited to have you with us. We’d like to invite you to participate in the Ultimate Blog Party over at 5 Minutes for Mom if you haven’t already. They are giving away tons of great prizes all week long– March 7-14. This is a great way to meet new people, and spread the word about your blog. We just started this one as part of our participation in our very first Breast Cancer 3-Day. We’d love the support of some new friends, so if you can… please donate to our walks. 60 Miles is a big distance to walk, but we truly believe that EVERYONE DESERVES A LIFETIME.

If you have a personal connection to the disease, please share your story with us in the comments. We want to be inspired by others. We are doing this walk for ourselves and for our families, but we are doing it for all of you women we’ve never met too. If you have time, click the link to the The Breast Cancer Site. They help fund mammograms for women in need. If you have $1, donate it to our walk. We have both committed to raising $3000, and have a long way to go.

I have an easy contest for a Save the Ta-Tas t-shirt on my personal blog. Visit me there and leave a comment, or follow the directions for more entries. I hope you’ll visit us often, bookmark us, and continue to follow us on this amazing journey.

You can register for the Breast Cancer 3-Day in your city on the official website, or you can call 800.996.3DAY for more information. There are tons of Start Up Meetings available in all of the participating cities which are super inspirational and will put you in a good frame of mind.

Nikki and I attended our Start-Up Meeting on Saturday morning in Carrollton. They showed us the DVD, and we talked about fundraising, teams, and the actual event. The Opening and Closing ceremony locations are not yet locked in for the Dallas walk yet, but when they are we will let everyone know. It is really cool because all of the participant’s friends and family can come and cheer them on. Yesterday my boss Angela mentioned that she would be there at the finish line with one of the other managers. It feels really good to have their support and it really feels like we are making a difference.
